Maka Ina grips are hand-crafted from start to finish. Grips are made with a personal design touch which backs away from the standard sharp corners and angles by utilizing more of an oval, tapered and smooth finishing process. This in my opinion adds to the grace and feel of the actual unit. All grips are patterned and fitted to actual firearms in my possession to assure the wood to metal union.
Woodworking, photography & leather work are what I call fun and enjoyable. I do an image-shoot of each pair of grips and try to create an image that is descriptive and entertaining. I’m a former Marine who served with the Third Battalion, Fourth Marines in Vietnam as a Battalion Scout. The 1911 was my standard issue side-arm and I have always been respectful of its durability, capability and legacy.
